Dafang Camera hack

Xiaomi/Dafang cameras can be hacked with a custom firmware. Once done the camera runs locally and doesn't upload any information to the cloud.

The cameras are pretty cheap too, you can find them on Ali Express for around $30. They also have infrared LEDs for night vision.

The new firmware adds a motion tracking, integration with home automation apps, and a bunch of other fun features you can play around with it.



It currently is set up to monitor my home office. It sends me images when the motion detection goes off to my Telegram account. The videos taken are saved to my NAS and backed up to the cloud. If I need more cameras, it looks like this is the hardware I am going to use.
